Introduction to Journal of Northeast Electric Power University

I. Historical Development

First launched in 1977 upon approval by the Jilin Provincial Education Commission and Jilin Provincial Press and Publication Bureau, the journal was originally named Journal of Jilin Institute of Electric Power. In 1981, it was renamed Journal of Northeast China Institute of Electric Power and circulated as an internal publication.

In 1992, with the approval of the National Press and Publication Administration of China, it acquired a formal serial number and was officially distributed both domestically and internationally. In 2005, as Northeast China Institute of Electric Power was upgraded to Northeast Electric Power University, the journal adopted its current title Journal of Northeast Electric Power University, which remains in use to this day. The journal is issued bimonthly with 120 pages per issue.

II. Journal Characteristics & Academic Influence

Rooted in the university’s strong disciplinary advantages, the journal features distinct electric power characteristics. It keeps pace with practical industrial needs and frontier research hotspots, and runs a variety of columns and special topics. We publish the latest research outcomes from prestigious universities, research institutions and industrial enterprises at home and abroad, striving to drive technological advancement and engineering application across the electric power sector.

Currently ranked as an RCCSE Core Academic Journal of China, our journal is included in the Catalogue of High-Quality Sci-Tech Journals in Energy and Electric Power Field and the Catalogue of High-Quality Sci-Tech Journals in Electrical Engineering Field, enjoying a solid reputation as a renowned academic journal in China’s energy and electric power community.

Indexed by CNKI, Wanfang Data, VIP Database and Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) for years running, the journal has been successively honored as an Excellent Sci-Tech Journal of Chinese Universities and a High-Quality Sci-Tech Journal of Universities in Jilin Province. Per CNKI statistics, its impact factor stands at 4.577, marking a continuous rise in academic influence.

III. Manuscript Scope

Supervised by the Department of Education of Jilin Province and sponsored by Northeast Electric Power University, this professional academic journal mainly features new theories, technologies and approaches in energy and electric power. We also set up special columns including New Power System. All contributions are sincerely welcome.
