Call for Papers: Special Issue on Key Technologies of High-Efficiency and High-Quality Electric Drive Systems

Electric drive systems are widely applied in aerospace, national defense equipment, transportation, national economy and other fields. They play an important role in improving the electrical automation level of equipment and serve as a crucial power foundation for realizing Made in China 2025. With the upgrading and development of China's industries, the application scope of motor systems has been continuously expanded, the actual operating conditions have become more stringent, and higher requirements have been put forward for their control efficiency and quality.

Research on high-efficiency and high-quality motor drive control technologies has important theoretical significance and application value, and has become a research hotspot in the field of electric drive. In recent years, to address the core issues of electric drive systems such as operation efficiency, adaptability, dynamic performance, control accuracy, service life and cost, relevant research institutions in China have carried out extensive research on efficiency optimization control, sensorless control, flux-weakening operation, pulse width modulation, fault diagnosis and fault-tolerant operation control, electrolytic capacitor-less drive control, model predictive control, intelligent control, robust control, and wide bandgap power device applications. These efforts have enriched the theoretical foundation and key technology system of electric drive systems, significantly improved China's research and application level, and are of great significance for promoting the continuous upgrading of China's motor system industry. This special issue will discuss and showcase the latest research progress of Chinese scholars in electric drive systems, providing a reference for relevant researchers from universities, research institutions and enterprises.

Therefore, Journal of Northeast Electric Power University specially plans the Special Issue on Key Technologies of High-Efficiency and High-Quality Electric Drive Systems, and invites Professor Wang Gaolin from Harbin Institute of Technology, Professor Yin Zhonggang from Xi'an University of Technology, Researcher Wang Fengxiang from Haixi Institutes, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Professor Zhang Guoqiang from Harbin Institute of Technology to serve as Guest Editors, and Associate Professor Zhang Yanping from Xi'an University of Technology, Associate Researcher Xie Haotian from Haixi Institutes, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Assistant Professor Wang Qiwei from Harbin Institute of Technology, and Assistant Researcher Li Binxing from Harbin Institute of Technology to serve as Associate Guest Editors. The aim is to encourage scholars and experts to systematically discuss the latest research progress and achievements in electric drive systems, and promote the development of key technologies for high-efficiency and high-quality electric drive systems. We sincerely invite experts and scholars from universities, research institutes and related enterprises to contribute their high-quality papers!

Important Dates

  • Submission Deadline: The deadline for the first round of paper submission is June 29, 2024.
  • Publication Date: The first issue of this special issue is scheduled to be published in the second half of 2024. Accepted papers will be prioritized for online first publication in the CNKI (China National Knowledge Infrastructure) database. Continuous submissions are welcome thereafter, with accepted papers to be published as a special column.

Submission Requirements

  1. Manuscripts must be original, unpublished academic papers with strong theoretical foundation, forward-looking perspective and technical applicability, providing valuable references for practical applications.
  2. The research objectives of the paper must be clear. The introduction should include a comprehensive and objective review of existing research, as well as a detailed elaboration of the innovations and improvements presented in the paper.
  3. Research data, methodologies and results must be authentic and accurate. Authors shall compare the advantages and disadvantages of the proposed method with those of existing approaches.
  4. Manuscripts should be formatted in accordance with the paper template of Journal of Northeast Electric Power University (the template can be downloaded from the journal’s official website: https://xb.neepu.edu.cn/).

Brief Introduction of Guest Editors

Wang Gaolin

Professor, Harbin Institute of Technology; Winner of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars; Director of the Institute of Power Electronics and Electric Drive; Director of the Heilongjiang Provincial Key Laboratory of Sustainable Energy Conversion and Control Technology; Elsevier Highly Cited Chinese Researcher. His research interests include motor drive control and power electronic converters. He has undertaken major national science and technology projects, national key R&D programs and other scientific research projects, published more than 100 papers, authored 3 monographs, and obtained more than 50 authorized invention patents. He has won 2 first-class provincial and ministerial science and technology awards, the Excellent Scientific and Technological Paper Award of the China Association for Science and Technology, and the Excellent Paper Award of IEEE Transactions on Transportation Electrification (IEEE TTE). He also serves as Deputy Director of the Academic Working Committee of the China Power Supply Society, Deputy Director of the New Energy Power Conversion Technology Professional Committee, Guest Editor of IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics (IEEE TIE), and Editorial Board Member of IEEE TTE, IET Power Electronics (IET EPA) and other journals.

Yin Zhonggang

Professor, Xi'an University of Technology; National Young Talent; Director of the Academic Degree Office of Xi'an University of Technology; Academic Leader of the Electrical Engineering Discipline; Leader of the Provincial Key Innovation Team; Director of the Provincial University Engineering Research Center. His main research interests include AC motor control and power electronic technology. He has published more than 100 papers, including over 40 SCI Zone 1 papers in IEEE Transactions series as the first or corresponding author. He has presided over 19 provincial and ministerial-level projects including 4 national-level projects, and more than 20 industry-university cooperation projects. He has won 2 provincial and ministerial science and technology awards, the Provincial Outstanding Youth Fund, and more than 10 provincial and ministerial honors such as Excellent Communist Party Member of Provincial Universities. He also serves as Director of the China Electrotechnical Society, Deputy Director of the Frequency Conversion Professional Committee of the China Power Supply Society, Vice Chairman of the Xi'an Power Electronics Society, and Editorial Board Member of IEEE TIE and other journals.

Wang Fengxiang

Director, Researcher and Doctoral Supervisor of the Quanzhou Equipment Manufacturing Research Center, Haixi Institutes, Chinese Academy of Sciences; Director of Quanzhou Institute of Equipment Manufacturing. He was selected into the National Young Talent Program, and also serves as Director of the National and Local Joint Engineering Research Center for Motor Drive and Power Electronics. His research focuses on the innovative research and engineering application of motor drive and power electronics. He has presided over more than 20 projects including 3 National Natural Science Foundation projects, the Regional Development Project of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the Major Science and Technology Special Project of Fujian Province. He has published more than 120 papers, authored 1 monograph published in Germany, and applied for more than 30 invention patents. He has won the 11th Zijin Science and Technology Innovation Award, the 16th Fujian Youth Science and Technology Award, the Best Paper Award of IEEE Transactions on Energy Conversion (IEEE TEC) twice, and was selected into the World's Top 2% Scientists 2023 list. He also serves as General Chair of the 5th IEEE PRECEDE Conference, IET Fellow, Vice Chairman of the Fujian Association of Automation, Member of the Electric Control System and Device Professional Committee of the China Electrotechnical Society, Global Visiting Professor of Technical University of Munich, Germany, and Associate Editor (AE) of IEEE TIE, IEEE TEC, Journal of Electrical Science and Technology (JESTIE) and other journals.

Zhang Guoqiang

Professor, Harbin Institute of Technology; Excellent Young Scholar of Heilongjiang Province; Deputy Director of the Heilongjiang Provincial Key Laboratory of Sustainable Energy Conversion and Control Technology. His research interests include motor drive control and power electronic converters. He has undertaken scientific research projects such as the National Natural Science Foundation and the Aviation Science Foundation. He has published more than 80 papers, authored 3 monographs, and obtained more than 30 authorized invention patents. He has won 2 first-class provincial and ministerial science and technology awards, as well as the Young Science and Technology Award of the China Electrotechnical Society, the Excellent Scientific and Technological Paper Award of the China Association for Science and Technology, the Annual Excellent Paper Award of IEEE TTE, and the Annual Excellent Paper Award of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society's Motor Technology Committee. He also serves as Deputy Director of the Youth Working Committee of the China Power Supply Society, and Editorial Board Member of Journal of Power Electronics and Electric Drive journals.
