To implement the Opinions on Deepening Reforms to Cultivate World-Class Sci-Tech Journals, promote the equivalent domestic and international application of sci-tech journals, and support the high-quality development of China’s sci-tech journals, under the unified deployment of the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST), the Chinese Society for Electrical Engineering (CSEE) and the China Electrotechnical Society (CES) respectively carried out the compilation and adjustment work of the High-Quality Sci-Tech Journal Classification Catalog in the Field of Energy and Power (2022 Edition) and the High-Quality Sci-Tech Journal Classification Catalog in the Field of Electrical Engineering (2022 Edition) in accordance with the principles of peer review, value orientation and equivalent application.

Domestic universities, societies, associations and organizations formed the initial results of the journal classification catalogs in this field through standardized procedures including recommendation by scientific and technological workers, expert evaluation and result publicity, providing a reference for scientific researchers to publish papers and for research institutions to conduct academic evaluation.

Journals in each disciplinary field are classified into three levels: T1, T2 and T3. T1 journals refer to those that are close to or have reached the level of world-class journals; T2 journals are internationally renowned journals; T3 journals are recognized high-level journals in the industry.

Journal of Northeast Electric Power University has been included in both the High-Quality Sci-Tech Journal Classification Catalog in the Field of Energy and Power (2022 Edition) and the High-Quality Sci-Tech Journal Classification Catalog in the Field of Electrical Engineering (2022 Edition).
