To thoroughly implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important instructions on running first-class academic journals, in recent years, the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST), the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, the Ministry of Education, and the Ministry of Science and Technology have jointly issued the Opinions on Deepening Reforms to Cultivate World-Class Sci-Tech Journals. This document clearly proposes to select and release high-quality sci-tech journal classification catalogs, establishing comprehensive and objective evaluation criteria that reflect journal quality. Under the unified deployment of CAST, the work of releasing these classification catalogs has been carried out.

In accordance with the principles of peer review, value orientation, and equivalent application, domestic academic societies, associations, and organizations have formed the initial results of the journal classification catalog in this field through standardized procedures, including recommendations by scientific and technological workers, expert evaluation, and result publicity. This catalog provides a reference for researchers to publish papers and for research institutions to conduct academic evaluations.

Journals in each disciplinary field are classified into three levels: T1, T2, and T3. T1 journals refer to those that are close to or have reached the level of world-class journals; T2 journals are internationally renowned journals; T3 journals are recognized high-level journals in the industry. Journal of Northeast Electric Power University has been included in the High-Quality Sci-Tech Journal
